Mr. Mac Mahon’s Class

It has been great to see the signs of Spring in our pupil garden and around the school grounds. The first pictures were taken in early February and the other pictures were taken this week. We have just come back from our mid term break. It is now just six weeks to the Easter holidays. 

Our holocaust bulbs came up quite well over the Christmas holidays . We are now going to put them out into the garden. 

We do hurling skills every Monday.  2nd and  3rd  do hurling skills and so  does  the Rackard  League   team. Billy Cullen and Lalo Malone train the hurlers. Our local club is the Geraldine O’Hanrahan GAA Club.  The Rackards were a famous hurling family in County Wexford and the league is called after them.

This is the art we did for Halloween. We put white paint on black paper and then we folded it over to make ghosts. We cut the bats out from a template and then we coloured them in. 

In the holocaust Hitler did not like Jewish people. Hitler lied to the Christians that the Jewish people killed God.He stole the money and the property off the Jewish people.

Our class planted crocus bulbs as part of a memorial project to the Holocaust in which millions of Jewish people were killed in the 1940’s. Here is a picture of the bulbs as they start to peep above the surface.

This week we have been doing a project on Vikings .The  Vikings  came fromNorway, Denmark, and  Sweden. The group name for these countries is Scandinavia.The Vikings were also called Norsemen- ‘the men from the North’.

This is a photo of us at work in class. There are 25 pupils in the class including Irish, Polish , Lithuanian and Indian. Some of us are in 5th. class and some of us are in 6th. class.
